Train transports

Waiting for the train in Amsterdam Central gave me a few minutes to ponder what is was like for those who'd been arrested and piled on to trains for transportation.  It must have been terrifying.

I'm in a comfortable 6 person compartment in a corridor carriage- reminded of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, and also of the Interrail trip I did 50 years ago on the Orient Express to Athens. This is vastly different to the cattle trucks the Jews were transported in 80 years ago.
